I was born and bred on the Gold Coast and have lived here most of my life. I did not start painting until about 14 years ago, beginning in watercolour, then oils. I now paint in Acrylics and Mixed Media. Gaining knowledge in all mediums allows me to use whatever medium is suitable for the subject, and to combine different mediums for the best effects.
Whilst I did not study art formally, I have been fortunate to have had wonderful teachers along the way. I have attended classes and workshops in Pastel, Figurative/portraits, Oils, Watercolours and Acrylics, with many well-known Gold Coast Artists to try to extend my knowledge.
It was through Judy Pomroy that a love of painting evolved. Judy gave me a new insight into painting using different effects and texture, colour and different paint mediums. She also instilled a “no fear” approach to painting and a love to experiment.
I mainly paint for enjoyment and relaxation however; I have been fortunate enough to have sold many paintings in my journey.
